Cruising its inaugural season in 2013, the AmaVida brings APT's distinctive standard of excellence to the Douro River in Portugal. This eco-friendly 108-passenger vessel features balconies in most of its spacious staterooms and suites, which range up to 323 sq. ft. Guests on the AmaVida enjoy fine dining in the main dining room, plus al fresco dining for up to 32 guests. The AmaVida also features a Sun Deck swimming pool, fitness room and spa, complimentary in-room Internet access and Video On-Demand, and ship-wide Wi-Fi.

A family-owned company since its conception in the 1920s. APT had its beginnings when Bill McGeary built a bus body on a tray truck after a tram strike affected the city of Melbourne. Through Bill's son Geoff, APT pioneered Australia's dynamic travel industry in the 1960s and 1970s via a diverse range of modes. Such innovation continues to thrive within the APT Group today, now a multi-brand business with an extensive global portfolio of touring and cruising products still owned and controlled by the McGeary family.
